Donetsk, Jun 16 — DAN. Four million square meters of housing will be built in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions by 2030, said Russian Construction Minister Irek Faizullin.
“Each region has been inspected for urban development opportunities and security for construction companies, ” Faizullin said on the sidelines of the Petersburg economic forum. “The program aims to meet the president’s housing contruction target for the new regions s by the year 2030.”
“The national project fixes the norm of 0.8 square meters per person; some 6 million people live in the new regions, so the target is 4,000 square meters of housing, ” the RIA Novosti news agency quoted him as saying.
The program “includes huge housing and infrastructure rebuilding and renovation of rundown facilities,” Faizullin said.
Earlier reports said that the Russian Construction Ministry had finished the work on the comprehensive housing construction program for the new regions.*jk
