Donetsk, Jan 31 – DAN. Russian anti-COVID-19 vaccine has arrived to the DPR, said the Republican Ministry of Health.

"The first shipment of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine has been delivered to Donetsk," the press statement said.

People in risk zones will be vaccinated in the first place. The shots are free and available for those who have no contraindications for it, such as ARI, fever, COVID suffered previously.

The patient who wants to be vaccinated must present the 025/u  patient medical file, or an extract thereof (027/u) indicating current and previously suffered conditions. At the vaccination site patient must fill in a questionnaire and undergo a test for COVID-19 antibodies. Doctors administering shots must warn patients about possible negative side effects.

The vaccination takes place in two stages: first shot is administered intramuscularly, the second one is administered after three weeks. The first one triggers immune reaction, the second reinforces it. After the shots patients must remain under medical surveillance for 30 minutes.

There are 32 vaccination sites across the DPR, the majority of them are in Donetsk and Makeyevka, the rest are in Gorlovka, Enakievo, Torez, Shakhtersk, Amvrosiyevka, Novoazovsk.

Russia began to develop a vaccine in summer 2020. It was registered on August 11, becoming the first anti-COVID-19 vaccine in the world.

The vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, was named Sputnik V. *ot
