Donetsk, Dec 13 — DAN. Russia’s Central Election Commission has adopted a resolution on the vote in the next presidential election in the four new regions. The CEC members supported the resolution unanimously.

The document empowers the regional election commissions to list the documents required for voter identification in addition to the Russian passport.  It also spells out the security measures for the voters, election commission personnel and election reporters.

The regional election commission can refuse accreditation or terminate it in case of violations. Recording at polling stations is only allowed to the accredited journalists, and voter consent is required for posting videos of them.

The resolution allows early voting in remote areas and cuts in ballot casting time for safety reasons.*jk
