Donetsk, Mar 23 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Acting Head Denis Pushilin has ordered the DPR Labor and Social Policy Ministry to work out a procedure for paying unemployment benefits.
Pushilin’s Decree No 83 signed and published on Thursday, tasks the Ministry with developing and approving the procedure for such payments. The document is retroactive to January 1, 2023.
Earlier reports said that in January, the Republican Employment Center accepted the first application on recognizing a person as unemployed who was entitled to benefit.
Such payments were previously unavailable in the region. Russian government official said that they would allocate more than one billion rubles for unemployment benefits in the new regions in 2023.
Donetsk People’s Republic Deputy Prime Minister Larisa Tolstykina said that jobless people who would register as self-employed entrepreneurs would be able to receive financial aid from employment centers as well.*jk
