Donetsk, Apr 2 - DAN. No new COVID-19 cases have been diagnosed in the Donetsk People’s Republic; the condition of two hospitalised coronavirus patients is satisfactory, DPR Healthcare Minister Olga Dolgoshapko said at a press briefing in Donetsk on Thursday.

“We recorded two COVID-19 cases in the Republic. The contacts are a woman and her two-year-old son who came from Moscow on March 19,” Dolgoshapko said. “They are in an isolation ward; their condition is satisfactory. The mother is a benign case; the child does not show any symptoms; he just tested positive and is a contact. Their body temperature is normal.”

The epidemiological situation in the DPR is controllable, she added. Overall, 10,254 people remain under medical supervision and another 131 are in hospitals. All the hospitalised people with suspected COVID-19 infection have tested negative.

The first COVID-19 case in the DPR was diagnosed on March 31.

On March 14, the DPR went on high alert in connection with the threat of the coronavirus infection.*jk
