Donetsk, May 3 — DAN. Participants of the all-Russia social movement “Volunteers of Victory” from the Donetsk People’s Republic will help prepare the Victory Day parade in Moscow’s Red Square, head of the movement’s regional branch Irina Makarenko said on Wednesday.
“Two ‘Volunteers of Victory’ activists from the DPR have won the ‘Ambassadors of Victory. Moscow’ contest this year, and will leave for the capital shortly as co-organizers of Victory Day’s main parade in Red Square, ” Makarenko told the Donetsk News Agency.
The activists will use the acquired experience to prepare commemorative events in the DPR, she added.
“Volunteers of Victory” is an all-Russia social movement which holds all-Russian and international actions, helps veterans and improves and preserves Great Patriotic War heritage sites. Its first contest, “Ambassadors of Victory, ” was held in 2015 following the establishment of the organization. In 2023, 100 volunteers from 81 Russian regions won the contest. From May 6 to May 10, they will participate in organizing the key events in Moscow to celebrate the 78th anniversary of Victory Day.*jk
