Donetsk, Sep 24 - DAN. Higher education centers and vocational schools in the Donetsk People’s Republic are going back to remote learning due to a worsening epidemiological situation in the country, DPR Education and Science Minister Mikhail Kushakov told reporters on Friday.

“Changes to the education process will take effect on September 27,” Kushakov said. “Vocational schools and higher education centers switch to full online mode. It is our response to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection.”

Remote leaning will continue until the Healthcare Ministry and crisis headquarters issue recommendations to return to onsite study, he added.

Earlier reports on Friday said that DPR schoolchildren would go on holidays starting next Monday due to surging covid rates.

The DPR remain on high alert amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Republic’s Healthcare Ministry reported more than 530 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours. Over 9,000 DPR residents are currently receiving treatment against the coronavirus infection. *jk
