Donetsk, Sep 12 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic has set up a commission for rehabilitation of victims of the Ukrainian nationalistic ideology who were subjected to repression in liberated areas. Decree No 430 establishing the Commission was signed by State Defense Committee chairman, DPR Head Denis Pushilin.
The Commission will include representatives of Pushilin’s administration, Prosecutor General’s Office, Supreme Court, State Security Ministry, Interior Ministry and Justice Ministry. The heads of these agencies have to assign their personnel to work for the Commission within five days.
The Commission’s objectives are to restore the violated rights and freedoms of citizens, examine and assess Ukrainian repressions, coordinate the activity of state bodies and municipalities in rehabilitating citizens, and inform the public about the scope of repression by Kiev.
The decree came into force on Monday.
In late August, the State Defense Committee ordered to begin the rehabilitation of Ukrainian regime victims. Back then, reports said that the Commission would accept requests for rehabilitation of citizens against whom criminal cases had been filed during the occupation.*jk
