Donetsk, Jan 18 – DAN. Two hundred and eighty-nine new COVID-19 cases have been diagnosed in the Donetsk People’s Republic over the past 24 hours, the DPR Healthcare Ministry reported on Tuesday.

“DPR medics have carried out 1,528 tests; 251 people tested positive and another 38 showed COVID-19 symptoms, the report said. No tests were carried out at the weekend on January 15 and 16. Last Friday, the DPR reported 222 new COVID-19 cases.

Overall, 80 residents have been de-registered after recovery and 18 have died in the designated period.

The DPR has recorded 120,786 coronavirus infection cases since the beginning of the pandemic; 108,986 people have recovered, 2,378 continue treatment, and 9,422 have died. Earlier reports said that the DPR was stocking up on medications in the event of an outbreak of COVID-19 Omicron variant. *jk
