Donetsk, Jan 16 - DAN. Thirty thousand new customers joined the Phoenix mobile operator in a day, DPR Communications Minister Viktor Yatsenko said on Tuesday.
“Phoenix has gained 80,000 new customers since Vodafone blackout,” Yatsenko said. “Yesterday, 30,000 new users joined the domestic operator network.”
On Monday, the minister said the available stocks of cheapest phone plans would enable the company to meet the demand till the end of this week and that another 100,000 sim cards would be delivered to post officers across the Republic later on.
The Ukrainian mobile communication network MTS (Vodafone) shut down on 11 January following cable rupture in Elenovka area in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The incident sharply increased the demand for Donbass-based Phoenix operator phone plans. *jk
