Donetsk, Jul 11 - DAN. The sum of one-time compensations paid to Ukrainian army aggression victims in Donetsk People’s Republic has exceeded 310 million rubles over five years, the DPR Labour and Social Policy Ministry press service told the Donetsk News Agency.
“Beginning from June 2014, DPR authorities have paid 310.8 million rubles worth of lumpsum compensations,” a press service representative said.
“In the first half of 2019, 13,791 payments totalling 98.7 million roubles were made,” he added.
The compensations are handled by the Ministry’s Commission for helping war victims. Both civilians and DPR militiamen are eligible for compensations.
The DPR has paid lumpsum compensations since 2014, in accordance with the law dated June 20, 2014 on “Urgent social protection measures for citizens living in the Donetsk People’s Republic in the condition of aggression of Ukraine’s armed forces and armed military formations.” The amount of compensation and the payment procedure are fixed in a DPR Head’s decree.*jk
