Donetsk, Aug 29 - DAN. DPR has made the 92nd financial aid payment to World War II veterans from Kiev-controlled territory of Donetsk Region under the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme.

“Ninety-two veterans living in Donetsk Region have received one-time payments from the Republic,” DPR Labour and Social Policy Ministry press service said on Tuesday.

“Today, on 29 August, a Victory Day lumpsum payment was made to a World War II veteran currently living in southern part of Donetsk Region,” the Ministry said.

The 5,000-hryvna financial aid package was paid at the welfare and government services centre near the Elenovka checkpoint. The money was handed out to a relative of the WWII veteran who was a medical assistant in Volkhovskaya Group of Troops, Leningrad Front, in 1941-1945, and rose to a high military rank.

DPR launched lumpsum payments to WW II veterans from Kiev-held part of Donetsk Region on 15 March 2017 under the aegis of the Donbass people humanitarian programme announced in February by DPR and LPR leaders Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy.

The sum of payment is 10,000 Russian rubles. The recipients can request the payment  in Ukrainian hryvnas at 2:1 rate. The two kinds of lumpsum payments can be collected until December 20, 2017.*jk
