Donetsk, Oct 5 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic passports will no longer be issued to residents, DPR Head Denis Pushilin said in his video address on Tuesday.
“The DPR will stop issuing passports; the approach has fully changed; we’re now Russian citizens, ” Pushilin said. “It’s not even the fast track procedure (for obtaining Russian citizenship — eds Donetsk News Agency). It will become easier now because all of us are citizens of the Russian Federation.”
The DPR has issued republican passports since March 2016. The DPR passport was a must for obtaining fast track Russian citizenship which became available for DPR residents in the spring of 2019.*jk
