Donetsk, Nov 16 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic has made some 38,000 Victory Day payments to WWII veterans and Nazi persecution victims living in the Republic and Kiev-controlled parts of Donetsk Region, Donbass People Reunification Humanitarian Programme Centre personnel told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“Overall, 38,000 payments have been made to WWII veterans and Nazi persecution victims living in DPR and Donetsk Region,” the Centre said. “The sum of one-time payment can reach 10,000 rubles depending on the category.”
The Republic has also paid some 300 benefits to miners having 1 group disability and the persons with distinguished labour records.
DPR began to pay Victory Day benefits to residents of Kiev-controlled part of the region under the aegis of humanitarian programme on 15 March 2017.
The sum of payments ranges between 6,000 and 10,000 rubles depending on the recipient's category (WWII veterans, participants in the war against Japan, etc). The recipients can request the payment in Ukrainian hryvnas at 2:1 rate.
Miner’s Day benefits are paid to certain groups of mining industry personnel and individuals for their skills and commitment to the profession. Payments range between 3,000 and 8,000 rubles depending on the recipient's category. The two kinds of lumpsum payments can be collected till 20 December 2017. *jk
