Donetsk, Sep 7 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin expressed his condolences on Tuesday to the families of the miners who had been killed in an accident at a colliery in the Lugansk People’s Republic.
“The news about the death of nine miners at the Krasny Partizan colliery made our hearts ache,” Pushilin said. “Together with the miners’ relatives we mourn this tragic loss for their families, the company and the whole Donbass.”
The DPR leader called the tragedy a misfortune for all people.
“The miners risk their lives every time they descend down the shaft for the sake of providing electricity and heat to our homes and supporting the operation of Donbass enterprises. Nobody understands the price of coal better than us,” the DPR leader said.
He wished a speedy recovery to the workers injured in the accident.
The tragedy occurred on Monday evening as a mine cage rope snapped. Nine miners were reportedly killed and another 19 injured.*jk
