More than 40 large families living in Ukraine-controlled parts of the Donetsk region received some 500,000 rubles worth of financial assistance under the aegis of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme over a week,” the Donetsk People’s Republic Labour and Social Policy Ministry press service reported on Tuesday.

“Over the past week, the DPR Labour and Social Policy Ministry provided one-time benefits to the tune of 504,000 rubles to 42 large families living in Ukraine-held areas,” the report said.

The payments were made under the aegis of the Donbass people reunification humanitrain programme, the press service added.

The DPR has implemented the humanitarian programme since February 2017. Its objective is to strengthen cultural, humanitarian and professional ties and provide social and public services. The Republic provides medical and financial support and allocates higher education quotas to residents of Kiev-held areas; it also arranges various events to maintain spiritual and cultural values of the region.*jk
