Donetsk, Jun 7 - DAN. The second hearing of the case against foreign mercenaries who fought on the side of Ukraine has taken place in Donetsk on Tuesday, the Donetsk People’s Republic Supreme Court press service told the Donetsk News Agency.
“The judicial inquiry continues; the court is questioning defendants and eye-witnesses,” the press service said. “The court provided an interpreter and Donetsk lawyers to the defendants from the beginning.”
These are public defenders, it added.
The first hearing took place on Monday, June 6. British nationals Shaun Pinner and Aiden Aslin and Moroccan citizen Saadun Brahim are in the dock. They are accused under four articles of the DPR Criminal Code: commission of crime by a group of persons, violent seizure of power or retention of power by force, mercenarism and training for terrorist activity. The mercenaries are facing capital punishment.*jk
