Donetsk, Dec 26 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Supreme Court has given life sentences to four Ukrainian marines who delivered fire at 14 civilians in Mariupol last year, Russia’s Investigative Committee (SK) reported on Tuesday.
Yevgeny Yakubenko, Dmitry Latyshev, Vladimir Kucherenko and Sergei Balitskky were found guilty of mass murder and cruel treatment of civilians. In March 2022, they opened fire at 14 people. Two victims managed to flee and the others died of their wounds, the SK said.
The four men will serve their sentences in a maximum security prison. Earlier, the DPR Supreme Court sentenced Ukrainian gunman Mikhail Izotov for shelling residential areas.*jk
