Donetsk, Dec 14 - DAN. Some 20 base substations have been purchased in Malaysia this year for DPR Phoenix operator to improve mobile communications quality, the Republic’s Communications Minister Viktor Yatsenko told DPR legislators on Thursday.
“This month, we’ll commission about 20 base substations imported from Malaysia; we’ve found a supplier who agreed to sell the equipment. This will eliminate the connectivity problem in the Republic,” Yatsenko said.
The new equipment is expected to improve the Phoenix network dramatically and will be installed at locations across DPR which need better quality.
Phoenix is the first DPR mobile operator covering the whole territory of the republic. It was test-launched on 16 June 2015. Phoenix call plans became available at DPR post offices six weeks later. The operator began full-fledged operation in February 2016. *jk
