Donetsk, Nov 23 - DAN. Donbass Development Centre humanitarian mission plans to provide food to more than 35,000 pensioners by the winter, the Mission’s press service told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“Donbass Development Centre and contributors are continuing to provide humanitarian assistance to residents of the region. At present, food packages are distributed among people aged over 75 who draw a minimum pension of 2,730 rubles ($46.7) per month. More than 3,000 people have received food aid. The organisation plans to help more than 35,000 people in need of help by December,” the Mission said.
A food package includes two-kilogramme parcels of buckwheat, rice, peas, spaghetti and flour, one kilogramme of sugar, a litre of sunflower oil and 200 grams of iodized salt. Food packages are distributed in Donetsk, Gorlovka, Torez, Debaltsevo, Snezhniy, Yasinovataya and other DPR towns.
Donbass Development Centre was set up on 8 October 2015 and granted accreditation as humanitarian mission in DPR. The Centre has provided assistance to some 400,000 residents of the region since the start of its operation. *jk
