Donetsk, Jun 22 — DAN. Miranda-media, a mobile service provider for Crimea is working on coverage in Mariupol and Volnovakha district, local authorities told the Donetsk News Agency.
“They were the first to start putting up cell towers in Mariupol; we followed up, and now they’re filling in the gap between Mariupol and Volnovakha, ” a Volnovakha district administration representative said. “They’ve been installing towers in our area for about a month.”
There are several fenced Miranda-media towers in the district center, he said.
Sim cards will be on sale in the DPR as soon as the mobile service provider has launched operation, the regional communications ministry told DAN. It has not disclosed the new mobile network launch date.
Earlier reports said that the Crimean mobile service provider would enter the DPR communications market this year and that the company might become the sole operator for the new regions. At the present time, it is actively working in Crimea. Russia’s largest digital service provider Rostelecom has a stake in Miranda-media.*jk
