Donetsk, Sep 25 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic prosecutors have referred to court a criminal case against a Ukrainian army officer who ordered to kill a civilian in Mariupol, the DPR Prosecutor’s Office press service reported on Monday.

“DPR prosecutors endorsed the indictment against 36th Separate Marine Brigade 2nd company commander Alexander Cholovsky, 37. He is charged with hate murder and cruel treatment of civilians in occupied territory, ” the report said.

Investigators said that Cholovsky ordered his subordinates to fire for effect at a car in Mariupol in March 2022. Obeying his order, the Ukrainian servicemen delivered small arms fire at the car killing a civilian.  The case was referred to the DPR Supreme Court for consideration on the merits.

Earlier reports said that Russia’s Investigative Committee brought charges against Kiev army generals Nikolyuk and Drapaty.*jk
