Donetsk, Oct 11 — DAN. Unemployment benefits have been granted to 193 residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic registered at DPR employment centers in 2023, the DPR Labor and Social Policy Ministry press service told the Donetsk News Agency on Wednesday.
“DPR employment centers offer an interview and at least two vacancies to first-time job seekers, former entrepreneurs and those who were fired for violating workplace discipline, ” a press service representative said. “A person is listed as unemployed if no suitable job is found within ten days from the date of registration, but as a rule, people find jobs.”
In January, the Republican Employment Center accepted the first unemployment benefit request. The regional authorities had not made such payments before. The minimum unemployment benefit in the region in 2023 is worth 12,792 rubles.
The Labor Ministry reported that the unemployment rate decreased to 3 percent across the country in August, the lowest indicator in Russia’s modern history.*jk
