Donetsk, May 24 — DAN. More than 3,500 residents of Artyomovsk have been evacuated to temporary accommodation centers across the Donetsk People’s Republic, the press service of the All-Russia People’s Front (ONF)social movement said on Wednesday.
“People’s Front traditionally comes to wherever help is needed the most; representatives of the presidential movement helped to evacuate people from the first days, ” the press service said.
Some 200 people have been accommodated in Sharkhtyorsk; they receive all necessary aid, including medical assistance from doctors of the “Krasny Kurg” non-profit organization.
“We understand their hardships and the urgent need for medical help. We want to provide all possible help, assess their health and pass this information to the DPR Healthcare Ministry, in order to send people to specialized hospitals,” the ONF quoted “Krasny Kurg” founder Karapet Topalyan as saying.
The ONF press service added that the evacuees at temporary accommodation centers had comfortable conditions and were provided with meals.
Evacuation from Artyomovsk to safer Donbass areas began on February 20. Prior to that, the authorities moved out the population of the suburban settlements liberated from Ukrainian forces.*jk
