Donetsk, Aug 16 — DAN. Schoolyear in the Donetsk People’s Republic schools will traditionally begin on September 1, the DPR Education and Science Ministry said in a decree published on its website.
The document said that 9th and 11th grade students would study till May 17, 2023 and 1st through 8th grade pupils as well as 10th graders will study till May 24.
Autumn holidays will last from October 29 to November 6, winter holidays from December 30, 2022 to January 8, 2023, and spring holidays from March 18 to March 26. The decree envisions extra holidays for 1st graders from February 18 to February 26.
Municipal education officials and heads of government organizations have been ordered to organize the First Bell ceremony.
Decree N 704 was signed by acting DPR Education and Science Minister Oleg Trofimov on August 11, 2022.
The 2021-2022 schoolyear in DPR schools ran from September 1 to July 1. It was extended because of several school breaks forced by high military tensions and the coronavirus infection situation. DPR schoolchildren mostly studied online.*jk
