Donetsk, Jul 3 — DAN. The participation of the Donbass Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in Russia’s September elections makes them historical, Central Election Commission Chairperson Ella Pamfilova said at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin on Monday.
“In actual fact <…> — I’d even call it historical <…> is that the four new regions of the Russian Federation are taking part in the elections for the first time, ” the Kremlin press service quoted Pamfilova as saying.
Earlier report said that Russia’s Central Election Commission decided on holding elections in the new regions this autumn following consultations with the Defense Ministry and the Federal Security Service.*jk
