Donetsk, Jul 25 – DAN.  The Vodafone mobile operator has filed a request to repair a wrong communication line with the Minsk Group today, said DPR envoy to the negotiations Denis Pushilin’s press secretary Viktoria Talakina.

"The subgroup for economic issues continued working on full restoration of the Vodafone services in the Republic. The agreement achieved at the previous meeting concerning the damaged fiber-optic line outside Elenovka was irrationally messed up by the Ukrainian side, as the Vodafone management has sent a request for repairs of another line, non-compliant with the agreement."

Such behavior, Talakina said, is protracting actual restoration of the stable service.

On July 11, the sides agreed on particular steps to fix the Vodafone service in the DPR and the LPR. On May 16 the DPR tabled its road map for restoration, supported by the Vodafone company.

On January 11, the DPR was cut off from the last Ukrainian mobile carrier MTS-Ukraine (Vodafone) services after an emergency disconnection of communication channel outside Elenovka. A DPR mobile carrier Phoenix was the only mobile services provider in the Republic. Vodafone resumed services on April 27.

On January 22, the LPR was cut off from the Vodafone services after an emergency disconnection of communication channel outside Veselaya Gora. It was restored within two days.

The Minsk talks participants are exploring options to attract foreign contractors to carry out repairs in both Republics. *ot
