DPR, Aug 2 — DAN. The “United Russia” party aims to win two-thirds of mandates in the Donetsk People’s Republic parliament and municipal bodies at the September election, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma lower house of the Russian parliament, ER General Council Deputy Secretary Anna Kuznetsova said on Wednesday.
“We are set to achieve not just a victory (of ‘United Russia’ in the DPR — eds Donetsk News Agency), but a convincing victory, ” Kuznetsova said. “We aim to get at least 2/3 of mandates at all levels.”
“United Russia” is the largest political party of the Russian Federation. It was founded on December 1, 2001 through a merger of the “Unity” movement and the Fatherland — All Russia and Our Home is Russia election blocs. The Party set up its regional branch in the DPR in 2022 after the Republic’s accession to Russia.*jk
