Donetsk, Apr 22 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin suggested to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky a meeting on the contact line in Donbass; Lugansk People’s Republic leader Leonid Pasechnik is ready to join the talks.
“I’m addressing the Ukrainian president personally. I’m urging You, Mr Zelensky, not to invite third country leaders to the contact line; better go there yourself for a fair and open talk with us,” Pushilin said in his video address on Thursday. “Together with Lugansk People’s Republic Head Leonid Ivanovich (Pasechnik), we’re ready to personally meet You there and have a substantive and professional talk about the situation and ways for its peaceful settlement.”
The talks can take place in the hottest spots in Donbass such as the Staromikhailovka, Opytnoye, Vesyoloye, Zaitsevo or Alexandrovka settlement, he said.
“I suggest that You not hide in the bushes on the second line of defence, but muster courage and reach the hottest spots <...> come there and see for yourself what Your troops have done; I don’t know whether you can control them,” Pushilin said. “Nevertheless, if you lack courage to visit the contact line in person, Leonid Ivanovich and I are ready for online debates with You. Public debates. So that the whole international community has the opportunity to see who brings forward real peace proposals and who merely creates hype. “
