Donetsk, Feb 3 – DAN. More than 1,200 people have received anti-COVID shots over the first three days of the inoculation with Russian Sputnik V, said DPR Head Denis Pushilin.

“More than 1,200 people have been vaccinated. Health workers, teachers, public officers are prioritized, the total of 50 thousand essential workers are going to be vaccinated in according with lists provided by Ministries. Additional six thousand have subscribed through the Healthcare Ministry website. After that, we plan to vaccinate People’s Militia members.”

Pushilin said he feels well after receiving the shot two days ago.

The first batch of Sputnik V vaccine arrived in the DPR on January 30. Next shipments are expected soon.

Russia began to develop a vaccine in summer 2020. It was registered on August 11, becoming the first anti-COVID-19 vaccine in the world. The vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, was named Sputnik V after the first Soviet space satellite. Vaccine’s efficacy is confirmed at 91.4%. *ot
