Tskhinval, Sep 19 - DAN. The new Ukrainian leadership continues the Donbass policy which was pursued by former president Petr Poroshenko’s team, and this makes it impossible to end the conflict the region in the nearest future, Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin said on Tuesday.

“The conflict (in Donbass - eds Donetsk News Agency) is regrettably ongoing, and we cannot expect it to end in the immediate future,” Pushilin said.

“We can assume it based on the new Ukrainian authorities’ behaviour. If someone had illusions, they quickly disappear and everything fails. In fact, they are going the same way as Poroshenko did. Ukraine is not the subject that makes any decisions, even such landmark decisions for Ukraine,” Pushilin said at a meeting of DPR and South Ossetia politicians in Tskhinvali.

Reports on Wednesday said that DPR Head Denis Pushilin arrived in the Republic of South Ossetia on a working visit. He will attend events in connection with South Ossetia’s Flag Day and Republic Day.*jk
