Donetsk, May 11 - DAN.  LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik has congratulated the DPR on its 8th anniversary, Lugansk Media Center said.

“The Donetsk People's Republic is celebrating its eighth anniversary today. Eight years ago, the residents of the fraternal Republic made their choice to preserve their native Russian language, friendly relations with Russia, declaring the independence of their state from the criminal, nationalist Kiev authorities,” said Pasechnik. 

He wished the Republic and its residnets well-being, prosperity, happiness, fortitude and a soonest victory over Ukrainian fascism. 
“Together we will overcome all obstacles, defeat the Nazi occupation and secure a decent future for our descendants!” - the Head of the LPR said.

Earlier today, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov congratulated the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin and the people of the country on the eighth anniversary of the Republic. 


The DPR marks Republic’s Day on May 11. Eight years ago it held a referendum on the region’s self-determination.  More than 75 percent of the region’s residents attended the plebiscite. Almost 90 percent of voters voted in favour of Donbass sovereignty. *ot
