Donetsk, Nov 11 – DAN. The high voter turnout at the DPR and LPR elections show that the Republics are ready to keep following the path of integration with Russia, said an observer from Russia, deputy of the State Duma Andrey Kozenko.
"High voter activity shows the Republic is committed to the way people have chosen in 2014".
An observer from Germany Gunnar Lindemann said the elections were "transparent, democratic, no one influenced the voters, so elections are compliant with European standards."
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission Olga Pozdnyakova said that "a pile of campaigning materials have been found in one of the polling stations, they have been removed. The fact has been recorded."
Today DPR residents are able to cast ballots at 408 polling stations across the Republic from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., all of the addresses are available at the Central Election commission website.
Five candidates are running for Head: Denis Pushilin, Elena Shishkina, Roman Khramenkov, Vladimir Medvedev, Roman Evstifeyev. Two social movements are vying for Parliament seats: the Donetsk Republic and the Free Donbass.
International observers have been invited to monitor the elections, 48 of them, nationals of Russia, Abkhazia, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Turkey, Finland, France, Chili and South Ossetia, have registered as monitors. *ot
Early elections took place from November 6 to November 10. All those who are unable to cast ballots today have had an opportunity to do so over the week, as DPR service members have done, among others. *ot
