Donetsk, Nov 10 – DAN. DPR Ministry of State Security has received reports on Ukrainian special services plotting mass messaging to spread fake news on elections cancellation.
"The DPR MGB is in possession of reliable information that Ukrainian special services are preparing information attacks to destabilize the social and political situation in the Republic and disrupt the elections," the Ministry said.
For this purpose, Kiev plans to launch mass messaging in Viber using addresses of DPR ministries and agencies and to post fake news in news outlets allegedly citing authorities.
"Besides, Kiev plots intimidation focusing on pensioners, who will be threatened to be jailed."
The MGB urges international human rights organizations to pay attention to anti-democratic activities of Kiev authorities aimed at disrupting the elections.
The Head and Parliamentary elections are to take place in Donbass on November 11. Residents will be able to cast ballots at 408 polling stations across the DPR, all of the addresses are available at the Central Election commission website.
Five candidates are running for Head: Denis Pushilin, Elena Shishkina, Roman Khramenkov, Vladimir Medvedev, Roman Evstifeyev. Two social movements are running for Parliament: the Donetsk Republic and the Free Donbass.
International observers have been invited to monitor the elections, 48 of them, nationals of Russia, Abkhazia, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Turkey, Finland, France, Chili and South Ossetia, have registered as monitors. *ot
