Donetsk, Jun 1 - DAN. Ukraine has not completed the prisoner verification procedure despite its assurances to the contrary, DPR envoy to Minsk talks Denis Pushilin told reporters on Thursday.
“At present, prisoner exchange is stuck at the verification stage, and the problem is that Kiev is telling barefaced lies alleging that it has carried it through,” Pushilin said.
“That is not the case, and the humanitarian subgroup coordinator confirms it, but they continue to insist,” he said.
DPR representatives at the humanitarian subgroup meetings in Minsk repeatedly called for completing the verification procedure earlier cut short by Kiev.
DPR ombudswoman Darya Morozova said it would enable DPR and Ukraine to carry out “all-for-all” prisoner exchange by the end of May. Kiev officials however continue to insist that they have completed the verification procedure.*jk
