Donetsk, Oct 26 - DAN. Ukraine has the opportunity to clear the detained DPR supporters of charges in two or three weeks to exchange them for the Ukrainian prisoners, but is continuing to delay the process, DPR ombudswoman Darya Morozova told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“If we can reach accords, two or three weeks will be enough for Ukraine to clear the people of charges and carry out full prisoner exchange,” Morozova said.
She added that about a year ago, it took Kiev just two hours to settle the return of 15 detainees.
Ukraine began to deliberately delay the prisoner exchange process about year ago. At that time, Morozova said the main reason behind the delay was the search for legal methods to clear detained DPR supporters of the charges brought against them by Ukrainian authorities.
Kiev has tried to manipulate prisoner exchange since, using all ways to avoid the implementation of the Package of Measures.*jk
