Donetsk, Apr 6 - DAN. Konstantin Ivashchenko has been appointed head of the Mariupol administration, the corresponding decree was signed by the DPR Head Denis Pushilin.

"I hereby decide to appoint Konstantin Ivashchenko the head of the administration of Mariupol," the document read.

According to information available to DAN, Konstantin Ivashchenko was a deputy of the Mariupol City Council as a member of a Ukrianian party of the Opposition Platform - For Life, and Director General of the Azovmash plant.

Earlier, the DPR Head signed the Decree No. 108 to establish the Administration of Mariupol. 

Mariupol is the largest city on the coast of the Sea of   Azov, one of the key centres of metallurgy in Donbass and a major seaport. The battle for the city began on February 25. Currently, Mariupol has largely been liberated. *ot
