The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has recognized the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin said.
“The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea today has recognized the Donetsk People’s Republic. The international status of the DPR and its statehood continue to strengthen. This is another victory for our diplomacy. We are grateful to the people of the DPRK for such significant support of the people of Donbass, ” he said.
Pushilin added that this political decision will become the basis for the further development of relations in the economic sphere.
“I am sure that active and fruitful cooperation awaits us, ” the leader of the country emphasized.
According to the DPR embassy in the Russian Federation, the DPRK Ambassador Sin Hong-chol presented the DPR Ambassador Olga Makeeva with a document on the decision of the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to recognize the independence of the country. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a decision to recognize the independence of the DPR and LPR. Later, Syria recognized the independence and sovereignty of the Republics. *ot
