Donetsk, Nov 8 — DAN. The projected number of ballot papers for Russia’s 2024 presidential election in the Donetsk People’s Republic will exceed two million, Russian Election Commission member Konstantin Mazurevsky said on Wednesday.

The CEC plans to supply 2,013,800 ballot papers to the DPR, 1,683,700 to the Lugansk People’s Republic, 496,200 to the Zaporozhye region and 543,300 to the Kherson region, ” Mazurevsky said.

In its estimates, the Election Commission used the figures from the protocols of the election which was held in these territories in September, he said.

Elsewhere in Russia, the number of ballot papers in a given region matches the number of its registered voters as of July 1, 2023.

The election of the Russian president is scheduled for mid-March 2024. The Federation Council upper house of the Russian parliament will decide on the election date in December, not earlier than 100 days but not later than 90 days before voting day.*jk
