Donetsk, Oct 18 - DAN. The upcoming election in the Donetsk People’s Republic will reaffirm Donbass residents’ drive towards a future without Ukraine, Donetsk Republic social movement spokesman Georgiy Morozov told the Donetsk News Agency.

“Today, we see that the DPR is a state with a large potential, which is developing and gaining economic independence,” Morozov said. “Free and honest election is the most precise indicator of true democracy in our young and improving state.”

He said that DPR residents had already made their choice at the 2014 referendum when they voted for “self-determination, independence and future without Ukraine.” The upcoming vote has crucial significance in further establishment of the state.

“We cannot go on without taking into account Donbass people’s will, without hearing each resident of the Republic or without considering the opinions of various social and age groups,” said the majority faction representative.

DPR residents will elect the new head of the Republic and the parliament on November 11.*jk
