Donetsk, Nov 4 – DAN. Local elections in DPR foreseen by the Package of Measures have been put off multiple times as the Republic is committed to the Minsk agreements, DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko said speaking at Direct Talk TV show.
"We had to put them off because Kiev had not adopted legislation and procedures needed to hold them. But it can not last forever. In 2017 we will hold the elections either in the frameworks of the Minsk agreements or by ourselves," he said.
Zakharchenko stressed that DPR proceeds from the assumption that the Minsk agreements must be fulfilled.
"The Minsk process is under way. Several decisions were taken that should be fulfilled by us and by Ukraine. Kiev has not done it, leave it on its conscious. We are complied with these decisions not to be lamed with disruption of the agreements," he added.
