Donetsk, Dec 2 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic might ask Moscow and Minsk to provide assistance in case of a worsening contact line situation in Donbass, DPR Head Denis Pushilin told Rossiya-1 Channel on Thursday.

“I don’t rule out that we’ll ask Russia and Belarus to help,” Pushilin said. “We have heard Alexander Grigoryevich (Lukashenko’s) statement, too.”

Earlier on Thursday the DPR leader said that asking Moscow for help was possible in case of an offensive by Ukrainian troops.

“Without doubt, we’ll do everything and take all the steps, and off course, we count on ourselves.  We’ll act depending on the situation as events unfold,” Pushilin said.

On Monday, Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko said at a Belarussian Defence Ministry meeting that “Belarus won't stand aside” if the West decides to push the Donbass conflict into the hot phase.*jk
