Donetsk, Jul 8 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic parliament has lifted the moratorium on death penalty.

“This legal norm will come into force after the publication of the DPR law on amending Article 202 of the DPR Penal Code, which the Republic’s 2nd parliament passed at the July 8 plenary session, ” the DPR parliament said.

In June, the DPR Supreme Court sentenced to death three foreign mercenaries who had fought for Kiev.   British nationals Shaun Pinner and Aiden Aslin and Moroccan citizen Saadun Brahim served with the Ukrainian army’s 36th Separate Marine Brigade and participated in fighting in Donbass against the DPR, for which they received remuneration. They were charged under three articles of the DPR Criminal Code: coup or retention of power by force, mercenarism and training for terrorist activity.*jk
