Donetsk, Aug 30 – DAN. DPR hopes prisoners exchange with Ukraine will transpire by the end of the year, said DPR Ombudswoman Daria Morozova.
"We hope the prisoners swap will take place by the end of the year. I have great hopes for international community and the Normandy Four format to pressure Ukraine into conforming to Article 6 of the Package of Measures," she said.
Morozova added that the protraction of the exchange process roots into "the lack of political will of the Ukrainian president Petr Poroshenko".
"As soon as Ukrainian negotiators in Minsk receive directions from Poroshenko the exchange will be finalized. There are no more legal or judicial pitfalls left except for Poroshenko's reluctance. The political will is needed."
According to latest statistics, Kiev keeps 499 participants of the conflict imprisoned. *ot
