Donetsk, Jul 04 – DAN. DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko announced today the start of preliminary public voting, the primaries.

"To reach our own goal of establishing a state system, on the one hand, and to show, on the other hand, that Ukraine's complaints are insignificant by nature, we launch DPR primaries", Zakharchenko's statement reads.

According to DPR leader, Ukraine authorities are unwilling to follow the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements when it comes to elections in Donbass region for fictitious reasons. That's why DPR will implement electoral systems and procedures in course of public primaries to stage "political drills."

"I emphasize that primaries do not contradict the Minsk Agreements in any way, as the procedure is preliminary by nature and aims at exploring public opinion and preferences," Zakharchenko said. He remarked that DPR authorities still hope against hope that Kiev will fulfill its obligations under The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements dated February, 15th 2015.
