Torez, Mar 26 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Torezantratsit state-owned enterprise launched a new coal face on Tuesday.
Speaking at the meeting which marked the occasion, DPR Head Denis Pushilin congratulated the miners saying that the country’s leadership paid attention to the development of the Donbass coal industry.
“It’s a new labour victory which is very important to the Republic. It shows that we’re making headway and that much attention is paid to the coal industry,” Pushilin said.
Torezantratsit acting director general Vladimir Mandrichenko passed to Pushilin the first piece of coal mined at the new face.
The meeting was attended by DPR Coal and Energy Minister Ruslan Dubovskiy, Lutugin Mine director Yevgeniy Babich and enterprise personnel.
The 250-meter long and 1.12-meter thick bed is estimated to hold 740,000 tonnes of coal and will keep miners busy for the next 19 months. It is the second coal face launched by the company in 2019.
The Lutugin mine has produced more than 45 million tons of hard coal since it was commissioned in 1931. It currently employs 950 people.*jk*pp
