Kirovskoye, Jun 15 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic authorities are not considering the possibility of a full-fledged link with Ukraine, DPR Head Denis Pushilin said at a meeting with the Komsomolets Donbassa coalmine staff on Tuesday.
“As for Ukraine, I don’t have the news to cheer you up. As long as the coronavirus and vaccination situation in Ukraine remains unchanged, there are no plans (to open the border with Ukraine - eds Donetsk News Agency),” Pushilin said.
On Monday, Ukrainian authorities said that the crossing points in Donbass could open any moment.
There are four crossing point on the contact line between the DPR and Ukraine-held territory but only one of them operates at present due to the spread of the coronavirus infection. The Yelenovka-Novotroitskoye humanitarian corridor opens twice a week, on Monday and Friday.
To enter the Republic, visitors have to obtain a permit from the DPR COVID-19 crisis headquarters; residence registration in Ukraine is required to exit the DPR. Visitors have to fill out a form stating their consent for a test at an in-patient hospital. They can opt to take a COVID-19 rapid test at the crossing point. Self-isolation at home is allowed in case of negative test.*jk
