Donetsk, Sep 27 — DAN. Voting on the final day of the referendum on the Donetsk People’s Republic joining Russia began at 8:00. Despite permanent cannon fire, the atmosphere at voting stations is festive with music playing and offers of tea and sweetmeats to visitors.

People come to vote with a smile; nobody hid their intention as they talked with Donetsk News Agency correspondents. All said that they had come to say “yes” to Donbass’ reunification with Russia.

On September 23 through September 26, voting took place in public space of residential areas. Voter turnout after four days reached 86.89 percent. Voting stations opened on the final day of the referendum on September 27.

The voters are asked to answer the question on whether they support the Donetsk People’s Republic joining the Russian Federation as a constituent entity. The right to vote in the referendum is enjoyed by citizens aged 18 or over including those who have turned 18 on of the last day of voting.*jk
