Donetsk, Feb 22 — DAN. A watchman has been hurt in a Kiev artillery attack on the Lokomotiv sport center in Debaltsevo.
The man suffered abrasions and shock. Six missile fragments were wound at the scene. Supposedly, it was fired from a US-made HIMARS (judging by the color of the fragments). The sport center building has sustained serious damage; its utility lines have been severed. Damage control is ongoing.
The Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes reported that Ukrainian forces fired six missiles at Debaltsevo at midnight. Supposedly, the strike was delivered from the Kiev-held Konstantinovka.
The sport center building took severe damage back in 2015 as a direct hit smashed several floors, a wall, windows and utility lines. Rebuilding works lasted for nearly five years. The sport center reopened in 2020, but the swimming pool repairs continued. In December 2022, Kharbarovsk Territory builders arrived to help with the repairs.
Debaltsevo is located in the northern part of the Donetsk People’s Republic. DPR and LPR forces liberated it from Ukrainian troops in February 2015. In May 2022, Russia’s Khabarovsk Territory began to provide assistance to the town in rebuilding its infrastructure.*jk
