Donetsk, Nov 22 — DAN. Artillery attacks by Ukrainian armed formations have left without electricity the Verkhnekalmiusskaya Water Treatment Plant and the town of Yasinovataya, the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes (JCCC) reported on Tuesday.
“Ukrainian artillery strikes caused damage to the Energetic settlement and set on fire a 110kW substation in Yasinovatya de-energizing the Verkhnekalmiusskaya Water Treatment Plant, ” the report said.
The Donetsk People’s Republic repeatedly reported regular strikes by Ukrainian forces at key water supply facilities in the Republic. The DPR has been experiencing water shortages since February. The situation remains very tense. Trucks deliver water to large towns such as Donetsk, Makeyevka and Gorlovka according to schedule. DPR energy infrastructure also comes under regular enemy artillery fire.*jk
